My Training Atlas — School Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 18 August 2026 · Version v1.1

1. About My Training Atlas

My Training Atlas (MTA) is an online directory and introduction service that connects travelling martial artists with compatible schools worldwide. MTA is operated by Koru Consulting Pty Ltd, a company registered in Western Australia, Australia (ACN 616 945 996). Operating address: Dianella, Perth, Western Australia 6059, Australia.

By claiming your listing and accepting these terms, you enter into this agreement with Koru Consulting Pty Ltd as the legal entity behind My Training Atlas. If you do not agree, you may remove your listing at any time from your workspace.

For questions about these terms, contact terms@mytrainingatlas.com.

2. What MTA Does

MTA maintains a directory of martial arts schools and facilitates introductions between travelling practitioners and schools. MTA is an introduction service only. MTA is not present at visits, is not a party to any agreement between a school and a traveller, and takes no responsibility for what occurs during or after a visit.

3. Your Listing

By claiming your listing you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to represent the school named in the listing
  • The information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You will keep your listing up to date — particularly location, class schedule, visitor requirements, and mat fee
  • You will notify MTA if your school closes permanently or temporarily by updating your listing or contacting claims@mytrainingatlas.com

A listing that has not been claimed is shown publicly as unverified, and its visitor-policy details (such as whether the school is accepting visitors, mat fee, and visitor requirements) are not displayed until the school claims the listing and confirms them. Claiming your listing is what allows you to set and confirm these details.

MTA reserves the right to remove or suspend a listing that contains materially inaccurate information.

4. What Is Visible, and to Whom

Information on the platform is shown in tiers, according to who is viewing and the stage of any introduction. This protects both your school's operational details and your travellers' planning needs.

Visible to everyone, including non-registered visitors (for a claimed listing):

  • School name, general location (locality and country), and country
  • Instructor name
  • Arts taught, lineage, and branch
  • Class schedule
  • Whether the school is accepting visitors, minimum rank, and mat fee
  • Etiquette notes
  • Year established, if provided

Visible to signed-in travellers:

  • Social media links and website, if provided
  • Precise location and map links
  • Facilities and getting-here information (changing facilities, transport, parking, and journey/safety notes), where you have provided them

Visible only to a traveller with an approved introduction, as their visit approaches:

  • Day-of contact details you have provided (such as a WhatsApp or LINE number), released only when an introduction is approved and the visit is near
  • Precise arrival and building-finding instructions

For an unclaimed listing, none of the visitor-policy details above are displayed, and the listing is marked as unverified until claimed.

Never disclosed to travellers or the public:

  • Your contact email address
  • Your workspace access link
  • Any internal platform flags or administrative notes

5. Introduction Requests

When a traveller requests an introduction at your school:

  • You will receive a notification at your registered contact email
  • You may approve or decline the request — no reason is required for a decline
  • You are expected to respond within 30 days (a longer window may apply in some regions, for example 45 days for schools in Japan). Requests not responded to within the applicable window expire automatically, and the traveller's introduction credit is returned to them
  • Approving an introduction is a commitment to receive the traveller on the agreed date. If you need to cancel an approved introduction, do so through your workspace as early as possible. When a school cancels or declines, the traveller's introduction credit is returned to them automatically

MTA makes no guarantee of introduction volume, traveller frequency, or traveller quality.

6. Traveller Identity and Credentials

MTA cannot independently verify the identity, rank, lineage, or skill level of any traveller. Profile information, badges, and credentials displayed on the platform are self-reported or platform-linked only.

You retain full responsibility for:

  • Assessing the traveller's suitability before and during their visit
  • Declining any introduction you are not comfortable with
  • Any decisions made at the door regarding participation in training

An Associated or Verified badge on a traveller's profile indicates only that the traveller has linked their profile to a claimed school listing on MTA. It is not an independent verification of rank or martial arts credentials.

7. Mat Fees

Mat fees are set by the school and collected directly from the traveller. MTA has no role in the collection, processing, or dispute resolution of mat fees. The mat fee shown on your listing must accurately reflect what you will charge the traveller at the door.

MTA charges schools nothing. Travellers pay MTA for introduction credits. Mat fees are entirely separate from and unrelated to MTA's credit model.

8. Advertising and Promotion

MTA may occasionally feature schools in advertising and promotional material (for example, on the MTA website, in social media posts, in newsletters, or in printed material). Whether your school is featured is entirely up to you. All advertising permissions are off by default and are opt-in only. You can grant or withdraw each permission at any time from the Advertising permissions section of your workspace.

There are five separate permissions:

  • Mention — permission to reference your school by name, location, and lineage in MTA advertising
  • Imagery — permission to use imagery you have uploaded to your Advertising imagery area (separate from your photo gallery) in MTA advertising
  • Reuse gallery — permission for MTA to also use photos from your existing traveller-facing photo gallery as a source for advertising imagery. Independent of Imagery: you can enable one, both, or neither
  • Grouped — permission to include your school alongside other schools in grouped advertising (for example, city-wide or lineage-wide features). Grouped depends on Mention: if Mention is withdrawn, Grouped is automatically withdrawn at the same time
  • Modifications — permission for MTA to modify your advertising imagery — for example by cropping, adding overlays, colour adjustments, or adding text and branding — rather than using it unchanged. Modifications depends on at least one image source (Imagery or Reuse gallery) being granted. If both sources are withdrawn, Modifications is automatically withdrawn at the same time

Each permission is recorded with a timestamp and the version of these terms in effect at the moment consent was given. Withdrawing a permission is immediate and applies to future use; MTA will make reasonable efforts to remove your school from materials already published, but cannot recall materials already distributed offline.

MTA will never use your school in advertising in a way that misrepresents your school, its lineage, its instructors, or its relationship with MTA.

Advertising imagery

When Imagery consent is granted, you may upload up to three photos to a dedicated Advertising imagery area in your workspace. This area is separate from your public photo gallery — travellers viewing your profile see the photo gallery, not the advertising imagery. MTA uses the advertising imagery only in materials permitted by your consent settings.

Before each upload you are asked to confirm that you hold the rights to the image and that it does not contain identifiable students, minors, or copyrighted content you do not own. This confirmation is timestamped and stored with the image.

You may remove an advertising image from your workspace at any time. Removal takes effect immediately in your workspace and within 30 days for any campaign already in flight. Removed images are retained internally for audit purposes and are not used in any new advertising.

Modifications and overlays

By default, MTA uses your advertising imagery exactly as supplied. When Modifications consent is granted, MTA may adapt the imagery for advertising purposes — this includes cropping to different aspect ratios, adding overlays such as gradients or shading for legibility, colour adjustments, and adding text or branding (for example, a headline, price call-out, or the MyTrainingAtlas logo).

MTA will not use modifications to misrepresent your school, its lineage, its instructors, or its relationship with MTA, and will not add third-party branding to your imagery. Without Modifications consent, MTA will only use imagery in its original form; this may reduce the range of advertising formats in which your school can appear.

Modifications consent depends on you having at least one image source enabled (either Imagery or Reuse gallery). If you withdraw both source consents, Modifications is automatically withdrawn at the same time and would need to be re-granted alongside a source consent.

  • Any injury, loss, or damage arising from a visit facilitated through the platform
  • Any misrepresentation of identity, rank, or credentials by a traveller
